1. Wear Leveling Technology

NAND flash memory have individually erasable segments, each of which can be put through a limited number of erase cycles before becoming unreliable. This is usually around 10,000 cycles but many flash devices have one block with a specially extended life of 100,000+ cycles that can be used by wear levelling controllers. By implementing both dynamic and static wear levelling algorithms, the life expectancy of the flash media can be improved significantly.

2. Error Detection / Correction

Powerful flash media error correction (ECC), which deliver an orders-of-magnitude improvement in drive reliability versus today's best enterprise HDDs and SSDs. The result is single-drive RAID-like protection and recovery from a potentially catastrophic flash block failures - all while avoiding the inefficiencies of traditional RAID.

3. TRIM / Active Garbage Collection.

With TRIM or active garbage collection feature enabled, the garbage cleansing function works in the background to manage and erase/flush "deleted" blocks. SSD can complete the writing in one step. Thus, TRIM function increases writing speed when the TRIM SSD needs to write a file onto "used" blocks. In addition to increasing the sustainable writing speed of solid state disk, TRIM can also increase their lifetime. To maximize the benefits of TRIM, both your SSD and OS have to support the TRIM command.

4. DuraClass™

This technology represents a set of NAND flash management features that work in tandem to deliver world-class SSD reliability, performance, and power efficiency that differentiate cutting edge models from standard products. Of particular importance is the use of processing elements to optimally overcome a number of the inherent issues associated with commodity NAND flash memory.

5. DuraWrite™

DuraWrite optimizes the number of program cycles to the flash effectively extending flash rated endurance by 20x or more when compared to standard solutions. This technology extends the endurance of MLC memory providing at least 5 year lifecycles with 3-5K cycle MLC flash.

6. RAISE™

It provides clever RAID-like protection for single SSD mobile computing systems.

7. SMART

It is an open standard allowing an individual disk drive in the ATA/IDE or SCSI interface to automatically monitor its own health and report potential problems in order to prevent data loss. This failure warning technology provides predictions from unscheduled downtime by observing and storing critical drive performance and calibration parameters.
